Finance Director - High Net Worth Family Office

We're representing an exceptionally successful Australian family with significant private investments across multiple sectors. Their portfolio spans operating businesses, property, private investments and sophisticated wealth structures, requiring a commercially astute finance leader who can operate with absolute discretion and integrity.

This is not a traditional corporate Finance Director role.

You'll become a trusted adviser to the family, working closely with senior stakeholders, external advisers and investment partners while overseeing the financial management of a diverse and complex portfolio.

The successful candidate will combine outstanding technical capability with commercial judgement, emotional intelligence and the confidence to advise at the highest level.

The Opportunity

You'll take ownership of the family's financial affairs, ensuring robust governance, insightful reporting and proactive commercial advice across a broad investment landscape.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading all financial reporting across multiple entities and investment structures

• Managing complex corporate, trust and investment structures

• Cash flow, treasury and capital management

• Working closely with tax advisers, legal counsel, banks and external stakeholders

• Supporting investment analysis, acquisitions and strategic commercial decisions

• Oversight of compliance, governance and risk management

• Driving continual improvement across financial systems, reporting and controls

• Providing trusted advice directly to family principals

About You

You'll most likely be operating as a Finance Director, CFO or senior finance executive within a sophisticated private business, family office, professional services firm or investment environment.

You'll bring:

• CA or CPA qualification

• Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge

• Experience managing complex entity structures

• Commercial acumen beyond traditional financial reporting

• Outstanding stakeholder management skills

• Absolute integrity and discretion

• A calm, measured and solutions-focused approach

• The confidence to operate autonomously while building trusted long-term relationships

Exposure to family offices, high-net-worth clients, private wealth or complex investment structures will be highly regarded.
