Engineering Surveyor – Major Energy Infrastructure Project – Surat Basin QLD – 2026

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for an experienced Engineering Surveyor to join a major energy infrastructure project in the Surat Basin, Queensland. This role supports the delivery of critical gas pipeline infrastructure and sits directly within the project engineering function.

Working closely with construction teams across active work fronts, you will play a key role in ensuring survey accuracy, construction compliance and ongoing delivery momentum. This is a hands-on engineering survey position supporting live pipeline construction — not a commercial Quantity Surveyor role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead survey activities across active pipeline construction spreads

• Provide set-out, alignment verification and as-built data capture

• Interface between project engineering, construction teams and subcontract survey crews

• Maintain survey data integrity, reporting and project documentation

• Support site engineers with accurate field data for construction decision-making

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards

• Contribute to efficient delivery across linear infrastructure work fronts

About You

• Formal surveying qualification or equivalent industry experience

• Proven experience on civil construction, oil & gas, pipeline or major infrastructure projects

• Strong capability with Trimble GPS equipment and associated survey software (TBC, CAD, GIS)

• Comfortable working in remote, site-based construction environments

• Proactive, practical and commercially aware

• Able to work a 19:9 FIFO roster within a camp-based project environment

• Pipeline experience preferred, though strong linear infrastructure experience is highly transferable
