Project Controls Engineer Lead – Major Infrastructure Delivery

Brisbane | Permanent | Tier 1 Environment | $165 to $180K + Super

If you’re a project controls professional who loves data, delivery, and the pulse of real projects, this is the opportunity that brings it all together.

We’re partnering with a national infrastructure delivery group known for shaping complex, large-scale civil and energy programs across Australia. They’re seeking a Project Controls Engineer to join their Brisbane-based team and play a key role in driving performance across some of the country’s most critical projects.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, commercial, and project leadership. You’ll be the link between the numbers and the narrative — turning raw data into clear, actionable insight that helps teams make better, faster decisions.

From schedule development to cost tracking and performance forecasting, you’ll influence how projects are delivered and ensure timelines and budgets stay on course.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building, updating, and interpreting complex project schedules for large civil and energy infrastructure programs.

  • Tracking performance metrics, identifying trends and providing early visibility on project risks and opportunities.

  • Creating data-driven dashboards and progress reports that give stakeholders absolute clarity.

  • Liaising with construction, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure all project milestones are met.

  • Contributing to the ongoing development of project controls systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.

About You

You’re someone who thrives on structure, logic, and collaboration — equally comfortable behind the data and in front of senior stakeholders. You’re inquisitive, analytical, and passionate about helping projects succeed.

You’ll bring:

  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.

  • At least four years’ experience in project controls, planning or cost engineering within civil or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel or Power BI.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and results.

  • A proactive mindset — you anticipate issues before they become problems.

Why This Role

  • Exposure to major national infrastructure projects that define Australia’s future.

  • Work with leaders who value precision, integrity, and innovation.

  • Join a culture that combines Tier 1 delivery standards with genuine work-life balance.

  • Competitive remuneration and long-term career progression.

If you’re ready to take your project controls career to the next level — and want to be part of a team where your insights directly shape delivery outcomes — we’d love to hear from you.
