Role Overview
Aequalis Consulting is partnering with a national infrastructure and energy contractor delivering complex construction and maintenance projects across the east coast of Australia. With a strong 2026 project pipeline across utilities, energy and resource infrastructure, the business is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to support site-based delivery teams and strengthen environmental governance across multiple projects.
This is a Brisbane-based role supporting operational and project environments. You will work closely with HSE leadership and project managers to ensure environmental compliance, drive continuous improvement initiatives and embed practical, field-focused environmental management systems across active worksites.
Key Responsibilities
Provide environmental advisory support across infrastructure and energy projects
Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, project approvals and regulatory obligations
Develop and maintain project environmental management plans (CEMPs) and supporting documentation
Conduct site inspections, environmental audits and compliance monitoring
Support environmental risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions
Coordinate environmental reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Liaise with regulators, consultants and project teams regarding environmental performance
Deliver toolbox talks and environmental awareness training to site personnel
Maintain environmental data registers and reporting systems
About You
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or related discipline
5+ years’ experience in an environmental advisory role within construction, infrastructure, energy or resources
Strong understanding of environmental compliance in site-based delivery environments
Experience working on utilities, pipeline, civil or energy infrastructure projects
Demonstrated ability to influence operational teams and build environmental capability on site
Sound knowledge of Queensland environmental legislation and approval frameworks
Confident preparing formal reports, audits and regulatory documentation
