Role Overview
This role supports active coal seam gas field development projects within the Surat Basin, focused on gas gathering infrastructure, trenching and in-field flowline installation. The work is site-based and delivery-driven, operating across multiple well pads and gathering systems.
With ongoing CSG activity secured into 2026, the business is seeking an experienced Gas Gathering / Trenching Supervisor to lead crews across trenching, poly installation and tie-in scopes. The role requires strong workfront setup capability, hands-on supervision and a clear focus on safety, productivity and field execution.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising gas gathering and trenching activities across CSG field developments
Flowline installation from well pads to manifolds and gathering systems
Poly pipe installation across in-field gas networks
Managing poly welding crews and daily welding productivity
Setting up and managing CSG workfronts (pads → trenches → tie-ins)
Coordinating trenching, backfill and reinstatement activities
Ensuring safety, quality and environmental compliance on site
Daily reporting, crew management and coordination with site leadership
About You
Proven experience as a Gas Gathering Supervisor, Trenching Supervisor or similar
Strong background in CSG field trenching and gathering line installation
Hands-on experience with poly pipe systems and poly weld crew supervision
Demonstrated capability setting up and running CSG workfronts
Strong understanding of FIFO site operations and remote work environments
Safety-focused with a practical, delivery-first leadership style
Comfortable working a 19 & 9 FIFO roster
