The Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing industrial services business seeking a Workshop Supervisor to take ownership of day-to-day workshop operations in Toowoomba.

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing fabrication, refurbishment and repair works across a range of equipment including tanks, structural components and heavy assets.

The role will suit someone from a boilermaker, welding or fabrication background who has stepped into supervision or quality-focused roles and enjoys being across both the workshop floor and inspection side of the work.


The Role

You will be responsible for running the workshop while also maintaining a strong focus on quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily workshop operations (fabrication, repairs, refurbishment)

  • Supervising a team of boilermakers, welders and trades assistants

  • Managing workflow, priorities and job scheduling across multiple jobs

  • Ensuring all work meets welding standards, QA/QC and inspection requirements

  • Reviewing and signing off on weld quality, documentation and job packs

  • Coordinating projects such as tank repairs, structural work and equipment refurbishment

  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure jobs are delivered on time and to standard

  • Maintaining a strong safety and quality culture on site


About You

You will be someone who can juggle workshop operations and quality oversight, not just one or the other.

You will bring:

  • Trade background in boilermaking, fabrication or welding

  • Experience supervising or leading workshop / fabrication teams

  • Strong understanding of welding standards, WPS, QA/QC and inspections

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and fabrication documentation

  • Experience working on repairs, refurbishment or heavy equipment projects

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Background as a Welding Inspector or similar highly regarded
