We’re representing a market-leading engineering and infrastructure business seeking a Commercial Manager to drive commercial excellence, strategic growth, and risk management across a diverse portfolio of high-value contracts.

This is a pivotal leadership role working alongside project delivery, legal, and operational teams to ensure commercial integrity, maximise profitability, and enable sustainable growth across large-scale infrastructure and utilities programs.

The Opportunity

As a senior member of the commercial leadership team, you’ll oversee all commercial activities across bids, delivery, and governance.

You’ll lead and mentor a capable contracts and project commercial team, supporting programs across the energy, water, and civil infrastructure sectors.

This position requires someone who thrives in complex, high-accountability environments — combining commercial strategy, operational discipline, and the ability to influence key stakeholders at every level.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial function across multiple contracts and projects

• Drive tender and pre-contract commercial strategy and negotiation

• Identify and mitigate risk, ensuring compliance with corporate governance frameworks

• Develop and implement contract management frameworks, financial controls, and reporting systems

• Support major bids and tenders, ensuring sound commercial positioning

• Provide commercial advice and leadership across project delivery teams

• Partner with stakeholders to manage claims, variations, and subcontractor performance

• Mentor contract administrators and project commercial staff

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Law, or Contract Management (postgraduate desirable)

• Proven track record in commercial management within construction, utilities, or energy sectors

• Demonstrated success managing high-value contracts and multidisciplinary teams

• Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills

• A collaborative approach and the ability to operate at both strategic and delivery levels
