A well-established Sydney-based professional services firm is seeking an experienced HR & Office Manager to take ownership of its people operations and administrative function.

This is not a junior admin role. It is a leadership position reporting directly to the Managing Partner, responsible for stabilising, strengthening and leading the internal operations of the firm.

If you are an experienced Practice Manager, Senior Office Manager or HR professional who understands the dynamics of professional services environments, this is a genuine opportunity to step into a pivotal role.


The Role

This position sits at the centre of the business, balancing people leadership with operational oversight. The role is approximately 60% HR and 40% office management.


Key Responsibilities


People & HR Leadership

  • Ownership of recruitment processes across the firm

  • Oversight of onboarding and induction

  • Management of performance review processes

  • Employee relations support and general HR advisory

  • Maintaining policies, compliance and HR documentation

  • Supporting Partners on people-related matters


Office & Administration Management

  • Leadership of a team of 5 (4 Executive Assistants and 1 junior)

  • Oversight of office operations and workflow coordination

  • Ensuring high administrative standards across the firm

  • Process improvement across support functions

  • Acting as a central coordination point between leadership and support staff


The Profile

We are seeking a mature, steady and commercially aware professional with experience in a professional services environment (accounting, legal or consulting preferred).


You will bring:

  • Proven experience managing administrative teams

  • Strong HR capability across recruitment and performance processes

  • Sound judgement and discretion

  • A calm, structured and practical leadership style

  • Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders


This role requires someone who is equally comfortable leading people and ensuring operational detail is executed properly. It will suit someone who values structure, accountability and professionalism.
