Role Overview:
An established organisation is undertaking a major payroll system transformation and is seeking a Payroll Officer to support the implementation of ADP within its Brisbane-based finance team. This role will sit at the intersection of payroll operations and system delivery, supporting both BAU processing and project activities.
Working closely with the Payroll Manager, Finance team and external implementation consultants, you will play a critical role in data validation, parallel runs, compliance checks and process mapping. This opportunity suits an experienced Payroll Officer who understands Australian payroll legislation and is confident navigating system change in a structured project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the implementation of ADP payroll software across a multi-entity environment
Assisting with payroll data migration, cleansing and validation activities
Participating in parallel payroll runs and reconciliation testing
Reviewing award interpretation, pay rules and system configuration
End-to-end payroll processing during transition phases (weekly and/or fortnightly cycles)
Preparing payroll reports and assisting with compliance documentation
Liaising with project stakeholders, finance leaders and external ADP consultants
Identifying process improvements and supporting payroll system optimisation
Ensuring ongoing compliance with Australian payroll legislation, PAYG and superannuation requirements
About You:
Demonstrated experience as a Payroll Officer within a medium to large organisation
Prior exposure to ADP payroll systems (implementation experience highly regarded)
Strong understanding of Australian payroll compliance and legislative requirements
Experience supporting payroll system upgrades, transitions or integrations
High-level Excel skills with strong data reconciliation capability
Ability to work in a project-based environment with structured milestones
Detail-oriented with a methodical approach to payroll accuracy
Confident communicator able to engage with finance, HR and external vendors
