Senior Commercial & Contracts Business Partner | Major Infrastructure | Sydney

We’re partnering with a tier-one transport and infrastructure business to appoint a Senior Commercial & Contracts Business Partner — a critical role that spans pre-contracts, delivery, negotiation, and strategic input across some of Australia’s largest road and maintenance programs.

This role would suit a Senior Contracts Administrator, Commercial Manager, or Legal/Pre-Contracts Advisor ready to step into a strategic leadership seat — or someone already in a business partnering role looking for broader scope.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on commercial risk, contractual obligations, and bid strategy

• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts – both head contracts and subcontracts

• Lead or support payment claims, variations, EOTs, and contractual correspondence

• Govern compliance with legal requirements and internal policy

• Partner with finance and delivery teams to monitor contract performance and forecast outcomes

• Assist in dispute resolution with legal teams and commercial directors

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams

About You:

• Qualifications in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field

• 10+ years’ experience in commercial roles within infrastructure, construction, or complex services environments

• Strong contract knowledge – from both a legal and delivery perspective

• Able to advise senior stakeholders and influence decisions with confidence

• Comfortable navigating legal nuance, commercial complexity, and fast-paced operations

• Financial acumen and experience with project budgeting or cost control is a bonus
