Role Overview

This permanent opportunity is for an experienced Project Controls Engineer supporting the delivery of large-scale energy infrastructure projects in South East Queensland. The role sits within a well-established national contractor delivering complex, technically challenging works for tier-one energy clients.

You will work closely with project leadership and commercial teams, providing robust cost control, scheduling and performance reporting across a live construction environment. This role suits a Project Controls Engineer who values delivery discipline, transparency and long-term project continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules across major energy infrastructure projects

  • Provide cost control, forecasting and earned value reporting

  • Track progress against baselines and identify schedule or cost risks early

  • Prepare monthly project reports for senior leadership and stakeholders

  • Support change management, claims analysis and variation tracking

  • Work closely with construction, engineering and commercial teams to ensure accurate project controls data

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls systems and processes

About You

  • Proven experience as a Project Controls Engineer on infrastructure or energy projects

  • Strong background in cost control, planning and performance reporting

  • Experience working in contractor-led, site-based delivery environments

  • Proficiency with project controls software and reporting tools

  • Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder communication skills

  • Degree qualified in engineering, construction management or a related discipline
