Role Overview
A major Australian infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead commercial workstreams across a diverse portfolio of complex capital projects based in Sydney.
This role partners closely with Project Managers and Contract Managers to ensure commercial strategy is applied consistently across projects, risks are effectively managed, and contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle. It is a senior, hands-on position with influence across delivery, governance and stakeholder decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Lead commercial management across a portfolio of infrastructure projects
Develop and implement consistent commercial and contracting strategies
Partner with Project Managers to support effective project delivery
Work closely with Contract Managers to manage risk, variations and claims
Ensure contractual obligations are understood and met across projects
Provide commercial advice on procurement, delivery models and risk allocation
Support commercial governance, reporting and decision-making frameworks
Engage with senior internal stakeholders and external delivery partners
About You
10–15 years’ experience in commercial management within infrastructure or major projects
Background in engineering, law, commerce or a related discipline
Strong experience managing contracts, risk and commercial frameworks
Proven ability to operate across multiple projects simultaneously
Comfortable partnering with delivery-focused project and contract teams
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation capability
Structured, pragmatic and commercially astute approach
